It's $199 most other places, so perhaps walk carefully and briskly, but maybe not a true RYF.

Just installed mine - works great so far.

I purchased the $229 bundle as it came with a cable.

OfficeMax is also selling these on eBay for $150, so you can get 2% eBay bucks and 1% back via FatWallet.

Thats weird pricing?

$150 no cable and $80 more with one -- thats a $50 markup over just getting the cable from apple?

$200 is the regular price without a cable and $230 is the normal price with a cable. OfficeMax seems to be blowing these out at $150 (without the cable) for whatever reason. The with cable version isn't on sale.

Are these the older T-Bolt spec?

Yes, they are Thunderbolt 1, which could be why they keep discounting them (they were originally $300, and the normal price only changed to $200 in the last few months).

But Sonnet is the only one that I know of that has announced a TB2 dock and it won't be out until Summer and is starting at $400. http://www.sonnettech.com/product/echo15thunderboltdock.html

I preferred to buy this Buffalo Thunderbolt drive for less than $200... IT CAME WITH A CABLE AND A DRIVE!

Oh, but I see this dock includes 3 x USB3 ports, Ethernet, FW800, audio jacks and an additional TBolt for daisy chaining... So, if you just need to connect a DRIVE the buffalo is still your best bet. But if you want all the bells and whistles for your MBAir, this may be what you want.

One wonders if a second dock can be chained and then the ethernet NICs bonded/paired.

Thanks for the info, G.

I have more questions, even though I have no T-Bolt ready iron, yet.

This appears to be a breakout box more than just a hub.

Does it use one of the T-Bolt ports to connect to a Mac? Is that the only connection? If so, does the earphone jack function independently of the Mac's earphone jack and speaker?

Given that this is at Amazon, it could be Walk Briskly item.

I'm intrigued.
