help finding airplay setting on ipad mini, please - goodmanx - 02-25-2014

the atv2 instruction on this page says to go to the ipad settings and choose our local network and then to choose "apple tv", apparently in the airplay settings. however, our ipad mini, running ios 7.06, does not have an "airplay" setting. i've followed all instructions here, including rebooting the router and restarting the atv and ipad, all to no avail.

in the airplay settings on the atv, security is set at "none." that's unrelated to the problem i've described above, right? my very limited understanding is that "none", "onscreen code" and "password" are all mutually exclusive; i.e., it's one of these, but not the others, right? am i missing something here?

i'll appreciate any assistance in resolving this situation.

it's late, i know . y'all take your time and let me know in the morning. 'night.

edit a few minutes later: never mind; i found it. sheesh! thanx, anyway.

iOS7 has a Control Panel, just like Windows 95! Swipe up from the very bottom. Might not work if you have a cover on the iPad.

Hit AirPlay, down near the bottom. http://www.apple.com/ios/whats-new/#control-center

One advantage of the new AirPlay setup is that you are able to stream audio to AirPlay enabled speakers from more of your apps rather than depending on the developer to add AirPlay capability.
