A great victory for people who unlawfully trespass, steal, mooch off the federal government, endanger their neighbors and slaughter endangered creatures.
We need more people like that in the world.

In further news, armed Patriots rally in Pennsylvania to resist President Washington's whiskey revenuers.
Throughout counties in Western Pennsylvania, protesters used violence and intimidation to prevent federal officials from collecting the tax. Resistance came to a climax in July 1794, when a U.S. marshal arrived in western Pennsylvania to serve writs to distillers who had not paid the excise. The alarm was raised, and more than 500 armed men attacked the fortified home of tax inspector General John Neville. Washington responded by sending peace commissioners to western Pennsylvania to negotiate with the rebels, while at the same time calling on governors to send a militia force to enforce the tax. With 13,000 militia provided by the governors of Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, Washington rode at the head of an army to suppress the insurgency. The rebels all went home before the arrival of the army, and there was no confrontation.

So who are the well armed militia good guys in that story - I couldn't keep track?

Seems like it would be cheaper & easier for the feds just to shoot all the 'trespass cattle' from a helicopter and then let Bundy sue for compensation.

The Sheep Wars, or the Sheep and Cattle Wars, refers to a series of armed conflicts in the western United States which were fought between sheepmen and cattlemen over grazing rights. Sheep wars occurred in many western states though they were most common in Texas, Arizona and the border region of Wyoming and Colorado. Generally, the cattlemen saw the sheepherders as invaders, who destroyed the public grazing lands, which they had to share on a first-come, first-served basis.
