Comcrap buys Congress - Spock - 04-14-2014

Comcast PAC gave money to every senator examining Time Warner Cable merger

But just how many politicians have accepted money from Comcast's political arm? In the case of the Senate Judiciary Committee, which held the first congressional hearing on the Comcast/TWC merger yesterday, the answer is all of them. Even anti-Comcast Al Franken got one Comcast donation 5 years ago.

Best political system money can buy. Consumers, you're screwed. Pay more for less choice, third world internet service on the horizon, Woo Hoo !!!

I have no idea why that article spends its entire time pounding on Franken. He is widely and wildly opposing this merger and he is one of the few Senators you can rest assured is looking out for the public. Some lazy ass at Ars decided to crib the most easily found information and try to make it look like it was some kind of expose. I guarandamntee you that Comcast does not own Al Franken.

Sen. Franken is anti-free speech so being in the back pocket of Comcast is very likely. I saw it here:

From that video: "He thinks that free speech should depend on who is speaking."

If the "speaker" is a corporation and the speech is hard cash then that sounds about right. It's reasonable to curtail it at a certain point. Regardless of how much Scalia's buddies stand to make from lobbyists.
