They are like two siblings. I found this ode to the family truckster endearing.
I've never really noticed SJP at all. She's kinda cool in this. I'm not sure of her background or what she has done, but I certainly did not think she was a stand up comedian/ienne

Thanks a bunch for posting...we had a similar wagon - '78 Chevy Caprice Classic, and I wrote a book with some humorous essays about this, and toured for it in a '76 Buick Estate wagon, boy that was an adventure! But dang I cannae get this show to load for the past year or so in the latest builds of Safari (5.1.10) or FF (30.0) on 10.6.8...extensions off, even. Frustration is mine.

I had a '72 Dodge Monaco station wagon. It was delivered to me when I was in Germany.
I think the motor was a 440 and I could cruise at 110 on the autobahns.
It was a great family wagon and my family loved it.

ok. either of you. rear seats? Were they rear-facing or jump seats like in the video(faced each other)?
have you seen that Tesla Model S has rear facing seat?
I remember sitting back there a lot and just making faces at the car/s behind us.

my Volvo wagon has rear facing seats, but I would not put my kids in there except for short rides on dirt roads. which would translate into nearly never.

why tesla just doesn't extend the roof to make a more proper estate/wagon is beyond me. Even if they'd just offer it as an optional trim.

1971 Dodge Coronet "grocery getter" wagon in same color scheme as Jerry/SJP ride; red w/ fake wood trim, but both the red and fake wood were a little darker. Everyone in suburbia had wagons back then, and everyone knew everyone else's wagons, but few knew what other peoples' "other" car(s) were. That '71 lasted until 1978 and was the last wagon in the family stable. Minivans rule now! Never made it to the autobahn in Germany w/ josntme, as it only had a 383, and I don't think it could cruise at 110, though it handled 95-100 a few times.

The last GMC product my dad owned was a 1969 Buick Sport Wagon with a 400 CI V8. He got it for towing and it was a terrible car for that purpose. Dad being a stubborn, hothead got in an argument with GM (he was a retiree) and never bought another GM product. He sold it after a couple months, bought a Dodge Polara wagon and never looked back (with the 440 V8 in it, there was no reason too)

Rear facing seats ? Awesome ! I still remember the fold out side facing kid seats in the family's old Ford Country Squire station wagon. Also known as "Annoy your sister" seats, where kids can sit across from each other and pester and kick until Dad has to threaten to turn this thing around !
