playstation 2 games - davemchine - 08-13-2006
I am not a big game person but I do have a ps2 and wouldn't mind picking up a few games. Ones I am familiar with are for the N64 such as Wave Ride, 007 and Mario Kart. Is there anything similar to these games for PS2?

Have a trawl through the "used" bin at your local video store or game-trading store, or check PS2 reviews (such as here: http://www.psxextreme.com/scripts/reviews2/reviews.asp) to locate games similar to the ones you know you like.

My sons said Timesplitters and Ratchet & Clank series. The two platforms are so different
that there's not a lot of really neat fun games for the PS2. They have every
platform except xBox but mainly stick with the GameCube, they're 16 & 17yo.

You could check out any of the Grand Theft Auto series if you're looking for some mindless violence.
Gran Turismo 3/4 are great racing games.
God of War was an exceptional game, although it does feature some fantasy themed violence. Not for kids, but fun and engaging for adults.

We have Crash Bandicoot Nitro Cart - it works with four players if you get the controllers and multi-tap.
Not quite as good as Mario Kart, but still fun.
