A friend sent me this link on how to upgrade Mavericks to the Yosemite icons.
I'm surprised how much more I like the look.

I think one of the reasons you like this hack so much is that it restores color to the Finder sidebar.

I've been using Yosemite since just after the WWDC.
I'm used to the look now, but I still prefer some of the previous icons to some of the new.
But over all I really like it and can't wait until the official release.

Absolutely.
Critics of the Mac have long referred to it's iterations as toys. That icon is the first time I've almost been tempted to give the cretins credence.
I'll be wanting to swap out that System icon for a previous version.
