Uh, no that's necrolepsy. different set of issues there.

Not that I am in a position to judge. I am deeply involved in technological necrophilia here. Right here. Right now.

My grandfather had a form of narcolepsy.
He was a carpenter, so it was funny to see him sound asleep up on the roof.
Or with his head in a kitchen base cabinet. :-)

Just once or twice a week for 15/20 minutes.

Never nodded off driving, but supposedly did pull over and nod off.

I don't have it - but I know a lot about it - especially how it's diagnosed and treated. Treatments can range from prescription stimulants during the day (usually amphetamines) including a new kind of stimulant that is not related to the amphetamines - called PROVIGIL. Also, one of the newer treatments is called XYREM - which is taken at night and supposed to help you achieve more restoritive/deep sleep.

If you'd like to know more PM me.

Many, many moons ago in college, a roomate complained he had trouble staying awake. He went to a local doctor and was diagnosed with narcolepsy and Ritalin was prescribed. (This was years and years before the diagnosis of ADD/ADHD became popular.) He improved markedly and was the most popular guy in the dorm around finals time when his "Study Pills" were worth their weight in gold

Given the seriousness of the situation and some of the ha-ha responses. There are some real jackasses here. Get well buddy.
