If they'd suceeded in their comedic writing, it would have been epic...
But they didn't. It's just garden variety suckage, not brilliant suckage.

Those going into this Film without knowing the background are Doomed To Disappointment.
One has to have a particularly tuned sense of humor to find out that this movie, and everything surrounding it, are the very essence of Prank.
Hell, they got Udo Kier to star in it- Udo Kier, possibly the funniest Actor alive who maintains that he isn't the least bit funny; the only reason that Klaus Kinski wasn't in it was that far too many people still Keep Vigil on his Grave.
The corpse of Klaus Kinski would have made it even funnier.
The Grim Ninja has it right- start off with Moon Nazis, and take it from there.

Even knowing all of the above, I couldn't watch more than ten minutes of it before I got ill and had to turn it off. Although it was hilarious - internal combustion engines of the surface of the moon? Come on, now...reality can be stretched only so far before it breaks.
Even Edward D. Wood Jr. made better movies than this one. "Plan 9 From Outer Space" looks like Oscar-material compared to "Iron Sky"

Yeah, I had to stop watching after the first few minutes.
However, I loved "Apollo 18", which also gets pretty bad reviews.
