Do you mean:
https://www.paypalobjects.com/webstatic/mktg/wright/videos/home-signup.webm

It's a ~17MB HTML5 atrocity. (It may be Flash as well, but no Flash is allowed here any longer, due to Kernal Panics. 31 days uptime!)

Easy enough to block with AdBlock in Safari. I just did

Good luck!

17mb? That's crazy!

It would be crazy if the page was that heavy. But it's streaming video, and no one ever goes to YouTube, plays a video and says OMG that was a 50MB page visit!

We live in an age when streaming is ever-more the norm, is my point.

FWIW when I just went there it played a (different) 3.4MB MP4 video, https://www.paypalobjects.com/webstatic/mktg/wright/videos/email-invoice.mp4

I then turned off WiFi on my iPhone, visited the site and only a splash screen showed, no video played. Truly egregious is that there, on the home page, Safari Mobile's navigation was disabled. I had to click a link to another page on the site to bring it back. I've only had that happen a couple times before with Safari Mobile but it's annoying, and would be a complete browser dead-end for a novice not to know how to get around.

As to your question, I was going to guess it's made with Javascript and HTML5 video-embed?
