Dear Prudence… - ka jowct - 08-23-2006

The sun is up, the sky is blue
It's beautiful and so are you
Dear Prudence, won't you come out to play?

Siouxsie & the Banshees did a great cover of that.

"The Beatles song "Dear Prudence" was written about Mia Farrow's sister, Prudence, when she wouldn't come out and play with Mia and the Beatles at a religious retreat in India."

That was the only song on The White Album I liked, when it first came out.

Such a radical departure (but then most of their albums were) from the previous, I was a little stunned. It didn't take *too* long to warm up to the rest.

But I've always loved every note of that song.
