Appropriate gift for next door neighbor - Octave Doctor - 12-18-2014 I'd like to get a little something for my next door neighbor for Christmas, was thinking maybe a decent bottle of white wine, around $20.00. She's single, pretty much keeps to herself, but we speak every few days. Something good in that price range or other suggestions would be welcome. And no, I'm not trying to date her. Re: Appropriate gift for next door neighbor - $tevie - 12-18-2014 The only problem with wine is the chance that she cannot/does not drink alcohol. If you know for a fact that she does, I think wine is always a nice gift! Re: Appropriate gift for next door neighbor - Marc Anthony - 12-18-2014 Tea Forté has a couple comparably priced items that a tea-lover would enjoy. I've been the recipient of a couple different samplers and every flavor was good—especially the White Ambrosia. https://www.teaforte.com/store/gourmet-tea/package-options/tea-brewing-gift-sets/ https://www.teaforte.com/store/gourmet-tea/tea-collections/sampler/ Re: Appropriate gift for next door neighbor - cbelt3 - 12-18-2014 Wine implies you want to come over and help her drink it, IMHO. Something for her apartment, or a book, or something based on what periodicals she gets. You'll have to be mildly stalky to get a flavor for what she likes. Re: Appropriate gift for next door neighbor - Black - 12-18-2014 Cheap calculating bass thard that I am, I think alcoholic beverages make fine gifts but if I'm going to spend $20 I'll go for the big name liquoers like Baileys, Kahlua, Jaegermeister etc. so the value is clear (I don't think the average person will know the difference between a $6 bottle of wine and a $30 bottle of wine.) Re: Appropriate gift for next door neighbor - Don C - 12-18-2014 Or a fruit basket. I just received a package of "Edible Fruit" from a former neighbor. Chocolate covered strawberries and apple slices. I sent them, and some other friends a muffin selection from Wolfermans. Consumables are nice for folks who are not into accumulating stuff.
