When I opened one of the utilities, it identified the computer manufacturer as Gateway. I don't work on as many PCs as I used to, but that seemed odd to me. Now it makes more sense. The thing has never missed a beat. We added a gig of RAM and a Nvidia 5500 8xAGP video card and it plays WoW just fine and he's heavy into it. It has an off-the-shelf motherboard in it, don't remember which one. eMachines pretty much stopped putting propriety crap in their cases 3 or 4 years ago. eMachines was outselling Gateway a while back that's why they bought them out. Can't beat'em, buy'em. |
