Help: can't connect Apple Bluetooth Keyboard - space-time - 04-16-2015 I have a 2 year old Apple Bluetooth Keyboard and Apple Bluetooth mouse. I didn't use these in about a year. I just got a MacMini and before I try to pair these to a new Mini, I thought to make sure they have fresh batteries and work. batteris in Mouse were dead (poor envelops, one was 0.8V and one was negative 1 mV). I am not sure if the one that was negative can be recovered. The keyboard still has some juice. Anyway, I put 2 sets of Eneloop cells in both Mouse and KB. I managed to pair the mouse with my MBP, works fine. I can't connect the KB. MBP will see keyboard, but connection fails. OK, I tried wife's MBP. Same thing. Machine can see KB, connection fails. I think I used this KB with an iPhone or iPad at some point. I tried both iPhone and iPad, they can't even see the KB. What do I do now? I am out of ideas. The only thing left is to reboot my MBP back in 10.6.8 since I think this is how I used it some years ago. As a side note: my iPhone can see a Bluetooth device called SYNC but I have no ice what that is. My 2 MBP on my desk and my iPad cannot see this SYNC device. I thought it could be a Ford but I don't see any Ford in my neighborhood. I just went outside to check. No Ford here. Back to the Keyboard: is it possible the keyboard is still paired with something? is there a way to reset it? EDIT: I removed SYNC from he phone and now it's gone for good, I think it was a rental car I had 3 months ago and forgot about it ![]() Re: Help: can't connect Apple Bluetooth Keyboard - space-time - 04-16-2015 the computer can even see the name of the keyboard, still does not connect ![]() Re: Help: can't connect Apple Bluetooth Keyboard - Onamuji - 04-16-2015 With Apple's wireless keyboards and trackpads, the trick is to press and hold the power button throughout the entire pairing process. Re: Help: can't connect Apple Bluetooth Keyboard - Black - 04-16-2015 Every such problem I've ever had was due to the device being unwantedly paired with something else within range. Does this look helpful? http://itecsoftware.com/reset-apple-wireless-keyboard Re: Help: can't connect Apple Bluetooth Keyboard - space-time - 04-16-2015 SOLVED. Typing on this keyboard right now. What happened is I have another Mac Mini in the living room (my backup server and eventual media server) and I forgot about it. The keyboard was paired with it. I removed it and now I can connect just fine. Thanks Next question: if I unpaid the mouse and keyboard from this MBP and I boot up a new Mac Mini for the very first time, will it connect to the mouse and KB? or should I use a wired KB/mouse the first time? Thanks Re: Help: can't connect Apple Bluetooth Keyboard - Black - 04-16-2015 It should look for and find the wireless thingies if nothing's connected to it.
