Can PDF's be inserted into a powerpoint preentation? - freeradical - 11-19-2015

I tried doing this yesterday, and it didn't work. The app froze up, and I had to reboot the computer.

I was using a windoze 7 machine with Office 2008.

What program generated the PDF? Do you have a paid version of Acrobat? Try Print-to-PDF a single page at a time and make sure the PDF output is smaller than your default PowerPoint (the Acrobat default is something like 1224 x 990). It might be some work, but you could also do a screen capture at 100% and then paste into the PowerPoint graphics editor. I never used PP much, just did things in Word page-view for presentations.

....if you have license for Adobe.....I once took a picture/snapshot of the entire page of the pdf.....then pasted into PP....as an image.......

I generated the pdf by using the "print to pdf" option under SL.

I did take a couple of screen shots of the pdf, and of course that was easily inserted into slides. However, PP has a couple of options for importing a pdf into a slide. One way had "xml" at the end of the name of the option. Neither worked.

The way that Microsoft says to do it is to take a screen shot of the document.
Go to the Insert menu
Select Screenshot Select 'Screen Clipping' and draw a rectangle around the document or portion of it that you want to embed.

I've been able to import PDFs into a Mac version of PPT for some time (the latest I've got is from Office 2008), but never Windows. At work we use Windows PPT from Office 2013, but still no PDF import, and I've often wondered why... :dunno:

Agree that it's much easier to do this by converting the PDF to an image. PP handles image files much better than PDFs.
