How do we get this Verizon commercial pulled? - Onamuji - 11-23-2015 There is a new Verizon ad ridiculing other Internet providers for their data caps. In it, Chewie is on the old Death Star, together with a droid who appears to be hacking the system. This droid is BB-8. The stormtroopers are wearing Force Awakens armor with white-tipped blasters. The music is the Imperial March which is primarily Darth Vader's theme. (There is Death Star/Storm Trooper theme music. This ain't it.) I'm not that big a Star Wars fan, and even so I find the discontinuities disturbing. You'd think with the money they spend on these things, they could at least make an effort to do it right. Re: How do we get this Verizon commercial pulled? - Uncle Wig - 11-23-2015 There's talk of tracking Muslims, or surveiling mosques. The real threat is the people who produce these commercials. They're the ones who need to be put in camps! Re: How do we get this Verizon commercial pulled? - Onamuji - 11-23-2015 Uncle Wig wrote: I wouldn't go so far. Not permanently, anyway. A few weeks in a deprogramming camp with a low-protein diet and messages about artistic integrity blasting 24/7 should do the trick. Re: How do we get this Verizon commercial pulled? - PizzaGod - 11-23-2015 Oh for the days of "I found a jar of pickles in my fridge from 1988. Should I eat them?" Re: How do we get this Verizon commercial pulled? - ka jowct - 11-23-2015 Couldn't care less about the ad in question, especially not when the Kreepy little mutants of Kars for Kids and the horrible fake Colonel are poisoning the TV landscape. Also not loving the new iPhone 6S ad that features a bonehead who is about to fall for the Nigerian scam, with Siri's help. SEAL Team 6 blasted "Panama" at Noriega's hide-out for days on end over massive PA speakers. Drove the neighborhood nuts. Re: How do we get this Verizon commercial pulled? - Ombligo - 11-23-2015 I thought they blasted Noriega's compound with Clashe's "I Fought the Law" http://www.psywarrior.com/PanamaHerb.html Noriega was known to love opera and hated rock music with a passion, so U.S. soldiers began making requesting songs that had a “musical message” for (him)... either by the words or the song title. Songs broadcast included such titles as "I Fought the Law and the Law Won," "If I Had a Rocket Launcher," "You're Messin' with a SOB," "Gonna Tear Your Playhouse Down," and "Nowhere to Run." Re: How do we get this Verizon commercial pulled? - Racer X - 11-23-2015 According to Don Mann, Dennis Chalker and Howard Wasdin, who were all there, "Panama" was in heavy rotation as well.
