I had an ebay buyer purchase one of my items. After purchasing and paying for the item he is asking questions about it that he should have asked before buying. He used BIN to purchase and I require immediate payment. The auction was an as-is auction for parts or repair and no returns. I'm leaning towards telling him he will find out when it shows up and let him know that you don't get to ask questions after you buy something at an auction.

I've asked many questions after a purchase. When do you plan to ship? What carrier will you be using? Do you require a signature? Etc.

I'd probably give basic answers...ie don't go to too much trouble to investigate or track things down. Explain that this is an "as is" purchase, and if the buyer is not comfortable with that, you will cancel the sale. Even if you list "no returns", you would probably still have to take a return if the buyer changes their mind. Better to put in just a tiny bit of effort/time now rather than deal with the possible hassles of getting it reshipped back and re-listing. At least, that's what I'd do.

Not that type of question. These are questions about the item itself, functionality, etc. Something you would ask when you are deciding if you actually want to buy something or pass on it. I listed it cheap to sell fast, I think he didn't want it to slip away and is going for the shoot first ask questions later approach.
I don't see any benefit to answering any of the questions since the item is already sold, and at worst he will try and say he doesn't want it.

Just remember that more often than not, eBay will side with the buyer if he decides it is not what he wants. He can file a "not as advertised" claim. It doesn't matter if that is true or not. eBay will side with the buyer, not the seller. I've been involved with this on both sides, neither of which were particularly pleasant. It may be better to answer his questions before shipping. Cancel sale and relist, if necessary.

I agree with DavidS, unfortunately. I sold a non-working MBP keyboard and listed it as such. I mentioned it in the title and the description twice. I said no returns. After receiving it he opened a "Not as Described" case. It was a real hassle to deal with and in the end, he won.

yeah, answer his questions but cut your losses if you think he'll be unhappy. just not worth the trouble.

Even if eBay has it well laid out in the communication string that the buyer did not adequately consider what they were buying?
