tell me about degreaser wipes - mattkime - 02-02-2016 this morning i got a flat while riding my bike. no big problem - although my hands did end up awfully greasy by the time it was fixed. (and by extension my gloves and jacket) i'm curious what the best way might be to keep my hands clean - perhaps carry an individually packaged degreaser wipe? anyone with experience getting greasy hands clean while in the field? Re: tell me about degreaser wipes - space-time - 02-02-2016 You're looking at this the wrong way. Prevent the grease from getting on your hands in the first place. Get some disposable nitrile or Latex gloves. Wipe would dry eventually. A pair or two of gloves tucked in your tool box or jacket take much less space and could also come in handy when you help your friend get rid of that body. Re: tell me about degreaser wipes - mrbigstuff - 02-02-2016 Yes, disposable latex gloves And if you really need them, GoJo or similar do make on the go wet wipes. I think these are what I use: http://www.amazon.com/Black-Lightning-Disposable-Nitrile-Gloves/dp/B000QDUB00/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top?ie=UTF8 Re: tell me about degreaser wipes - Racer X - 02-02-2016 you want nitrile, not latex. Re: tell me about degreaser wipes - Racer X - 02-03-2016 well, nitrile is also fairly chemical, and especially petroleum resistant. Most lightweight petroleum will ruin latex in seconds or minutes. Diesel turned a pair to goo in a minute while I was wearing them. Kinda felt like my skin was sloughing off. |
