They require the fuel tank to be ruptured, a gas plume to exit, and then the cloud of gas to ignite. Otherwise you get a torch effect. I'd expect that this was a rare occurrence, but I also expect there will be a design review. The local transit authority uses CNG buses, but the tanks are on the roof. |
