Depends on your needs.
Using this as a portable machine - basically an ultra portable - it's more than fast enough.
But the 13" MBPR is a far more powerful machine.

I haven't been following these a lot lately. But I'm not exactly sure what people are so excited about. For $99, you can get a refurb 12" MBP that has
- Better processor
- Better graphics
- Same RAM
- 128GB instead of 256GB storage
- Lower res, but still retina display

You get ridiculously awesome slimness and less ports. If I hadn't blown my money on lenses I would be all over this.
