machine won't sleep AND flux won't won't kick in. any advice? - mattkime - 02-15-2016
title says it all. sleep mode won't kick in and neither will flux. i suspect it was a bit of software that was installed. prefs look normal. perhaps i should delete energy safer prefs? already deleted flux prefs.
anyone see anything like this before?

It's a hardware issue—I'm pretty sure your flux capacitor is shot.

I see the same thing on my old Mini running Snow Leopard. I've nailed it down to a lot of web sites that load up background crap and leave it running as long as my web browser is left active. I've tried disabling things, installing plugins like Click-to-Flash, etc but nothing seems to be able to stop this. The only thing that works for me is to shut down my web browser before I leave the computer. Then the computer goes to sleep normally on schedule.

the really weird bit was that selecting Sleep from the Apple menu wouldn't do a damn thing but move my cursor to the upper left corner.
running the 10.11.3 combo updater seems to have fixed the sleep problem. we'll see if flux works this evening. i'm optimistic.

Ah, me too. Thought it was a file system driver, but it seems to be web browser related.
