High-quality bed sheets - rjmacs - 02-22-2016 Hi all, I'm in the market for new bed sheets, and am here to solicit your advice & opinions... Here's what I'm looking for: 100% cotton Heavy weight/good thread count Not "sateen" or any other shiny weave - I have a strong preference for simple weave/percale Durable White I consider good bed sheets to be an investment, so I don't need the cheapest choice, but I'm also not made of money. I don't mind sheets that feel a bit rough on purchase, and get softer with wear & washing. I launder my sheets weekly. Where to buy? Any reliable sources/brands? In the past I've used Overstock, but I'm skeptical of their options lately. Thanks, MRFers! You always have great suggestions. Re: High-quality bed sheets - Robert M - 02-22-2016 rj, What season? I like flannel sheets in the winter and regular sheets the rest of the year. Robert Re: High-quality bed sheets - rjmacs - 02-22-2016 Robert M wrote: I'm a plain/regular sheets all year person. I adjust blankets/comforters/quilts by the season, but i need my crisp cotton sheets every night. Re: High-quality bed sheets - clay - 02-22-2016 we love the sheets that we bought from Lands End probably about 7 years ago. Don't remember exactly what we got, but they have held up very well. Re: High-quality bed sheets - rgG - 02-22-2016 The sheets we have bought at Costco have been very nice, but I don't know what kind they are offering right now. I also like Fieldcrest sheets. I have a set that I got at Target years ago that are soooo soft and just get softer. Re: High-quality bed sheets - jdc - 02-22-2016 Macys Home collection. watch for sales... all the big holiday weekends. Can go up to $100 per sheet -- not set -- depending on bed size. Ours lasted almost 10 years. Re: High-quality bed sheets - Buzz - 02-22-2016 Costco usually has some decent ones. At BB&B you can sometimes score big on their clearance racks, plus they plenty of discount coupons. The Marshall's, Ross, TJ Maxx, Tuesday Morning type places can also be good. Amazingly, we've gotten a few quality sets from Yugster deals; but the really good ones have sold out quickly. We usually have 3 or 4 sets in the rotation, so they have a chance to rest for a few weeks in between uses, and seem to last longer that way. Good luck. == Re: High-quality bed sheets - jesse - 02-22-2016 I was going to suggest Marshalls or Ross, nice sheets with a high thread count at a discount. I go by feel, so ordering online doesn't work for me. Re: High-quality bed sheets - N-OS X-tasy! - 02-22-2016 Marshalls/Home Goods/Tuesday Morning was going to be my suggestion, too. Re: High-quality bed sheets - prymsnap - 02-23-2016 My absolute favorites come from The Company Store. Not cheap but truly awesome. |
