2001: A Space Odyssey - wave rider - 07-01-2016

Watched 2001 this evening since I goes off Netflix' streaming rotation tomorrow.

What a movie! It still stands up over time, 48 years later. And the Netflix HD stream was delicious, clearest I have seen the movie in a home setting ever.

Thanks to those folks who gave the warning, very enjoyable evening!

This is one of those movies that you've got to see in a movie theater.

I saw it when it first came out, back in the day before the multiplex cinema, at a restored vintage cinema in Washington D.C. that only had one huge screen, and a killer sound system.

Definitely enjoyed it in the theater too!

Which theater? MacArthur Blvd or Connecticut Ave?

The first movie I ever went to as a kid. Cinerama Theatre, downtown (5th Avenue?) Seattle.

.....might be due to reduced dialogue in film.....first 25 minutes has none.......scenes with music......or scenes with silence..........
