Johnny Manziel Watch 2016: NFL hands Manziel a 4 game suspension - pRICE cUBE - 07-01-2016 Johnny's self proclaimed comeback for the 2016 season is going well. He'll probably be suspended a whole season if he is found guilty in the assault case stemming from beating his former girlfriend. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/16645061/nfl-suspends-johnny-manziel-4-games Quarterback Johnny Manziel has been suspended four games, the NFL announced Thursday. The NFL did not specify the reason for the suspension, but a source confirmed to ESPN that it was for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. TMZ Sports first reported news on Manziel's suspension. Don't expect Johnny Manziel on the field in 2016 The former Browns quarterback has been suspended for the first four games of 2016, making '17 the best-case scenario for an NFL return. But other challenges loom larger than his football career. Manziel, 23, is a free agent after being released by the Cleveland Browns earlier this year. His four-game suspension becomes effective immediately. If he signs with a team, Manziel would be suspended for the first four games of the 2016 season and conceivably could play in Week 5. The NFL stated that Manziel was eligible to sign and participate in all preseason activities, including games. Manziel could face additional discipline under the personal conduct policy for other transgressions, including being charged with assaulting his girlfriend, sources told ESPN. Re: Johnny Manziel Watch 2016: NFL suspends hands Manziel a 4 game suspension - RgrF - 07-01-2016 Wednesday responding to scathing criticism from his Dad he announced that he'd be going sober after this coming weekend. Gotta' admire his determination and willingness to face his problem so long as he can do it later. With this newest outside action, he can now relax and backtrack that promise to coincide with the end of his suspension, how lucky can a spoiled, rich, diseased kid get? He's the only one that can end his self-destructive cycle before it kills him but that seldom happens with addicts until they hit rock bottom and in the case of pampered immature athletes it often takes longer than they can really afford. A kid no one ever said no to is a kid who'll have a tough time saying no to himself. Re: Johnny Manziel Watch 2016: NFL suspends hands Manziel a 4 game suspension - cbelt3 - 07-01-2016 Affluenza football punk. Somehow I don't see any team being dumb enough to pick him up. Re: Johnny Manziel Watch 2016: NFL hands Manziel a 4 game suspension - datbeme - 07-01-2016 So does the 4 games start now or when some desperate team actually picks him up? Re: Johnny Manziel Watch 2016: NFL suspends hands Manziel a 4 game suspension - Ombligo - 07-01-2016 And MLB said Pete Rose won't be in the All-Star game. Odds are more than one team based on the history of pro and near-pro college teams going for known problem athletes in search of those all important wins. At this point I'd wonder if when all of the personal problems are resolved, whether or not he has the talent to be competitive at all. It seemed possible. I mean, you never know where you'll find the next Joe Montana. Re: Johnny Manziel Watch 2016: NFL suspends hands Manziel a 4 game suspension - RgrF - 07-02-2016 He'd have a better chance as a position player. QB is just too highly visible with his track record, on the other hand, it would seem he's already brain damaged so maybe he'd be better off just taking the money they already gave him and learning how to invest it. |
