Now this is an interesting YouTube Channel--Russian Style - jh - 07-05-2016

I know this is old news and I did a quick search of the forum but found nothing mentioned (notice the word quick)

There are YouTube videos about Russian drivers, road rage, drunks, you name it but a friend sent me a link to this channel plus these folks have another channel.

The BBC did a story on them if you just want to get idea of what they are doing.

I watched way too many that I intended to start out with. Got to hand it to the guys and gals they have some Chutzpah. English subtitles but beware of language and some violence.

Is staying off the sidewalks with vehicles a big problem in Russia?

I watched the newest one, pretty dang funny.

Of the ones I watched it appeared to be so--that and parking/standing in a traffic lane. Looked like the sidewalk stuff were people trying to beat traffic.

BTW: I have a sister in law who is Russian. My brother and her tell me what you see on You Tube about Russian drivers, road rage, etc. is pretty much true for the most part.

[ Is staying off the sidewalks with vehicles a big problem in Russia? ]

Doesn't surprise me a bit.

I've seen a lot of references to Russians having dash cams as a way of life to fight insurance fraud.

That's Chutzpah3!

Did they take a Makarov off of one of the drivers?

Yes, my SIL and brother told me a lot of Russian drivers have dash cams. Her brother has one. Several of the videos show drunk, crazy drivers lots of attitude and some get physical and try to use various weapons, axe, baseball bat, pistols, etc. but they seem to know how to handle it and come out usually victorious from the vids I saw.

.

It is not just Russia, it is quite common in many countries where number of cars has recently expanded dramatically and exceeds the capacity or utility of the existing infrastructure....

A post hole digger, a few bags of cement and a couple of 6" diameter steel pipes would stop it, at least for a few days.
