I have needed one for some time, and I know others are looking, too.
my biggest beef with nearly every new one is the flimsy (and badly engineered) new latches for the door. not every one is this way, but many are. if the machine is going to fail, this is a weak point.
but, since they "don't make them like they use to" any longer, I guess it is what it is.

We are looking at a KitchenAid.
I don't have the Model Number with me.
We did notice that the Bosch we liked would not hold our dishes.
YMMV
Don't be afraid to bring a plate or two to a B&M store to see how things fit in for any flavor of Dishwasher.

We have a Miele Futura Classic for 3 years. Quiet and cleans very well.

Same here. My only complaint is that I wish I would have bought it *after* everyone started putting the buttons on the top (of the door) instead of on the front. I've had more than one person lean against it and accidentally turn it on or off.

I have a KitchenAid KUDS35FXSS8 and it is easily the best dishwasher I have ever owned. A quick google search tells me it isn't a current model. I looked on the home depot website and I can see this brand dishwasher is very expensive. Even so I would buy one if this one failed. It washes very thoroughly and is exceedingly quiet.

Careful what you wish for... the ones with the buttons on the top edge have a reputation for having steam get in and fry the electronics... (this from my buddy who is a plumber and installs 'em now and then... he won't install a top-edge control panel model without letting the homeowner know his experience with having to replace quite a few of them because they died).
