Clinton projection now above 270 electoral votes - Ombligo - 08-17-2016
Realclearpolitics now projects Clinton at 272 electoral votes with the addition of Michigan. The site does not call a state until a candidate has a 7% advantage over a months polls. If the polls hold, she can now lose every remaining swing state (Florida, Ohio, Nevada, Arizona, Iowa, Missouri, North Carolina, and Georgia) and still win.

Are more Trump voters going to stay home in November because of his imminent defeat, or are more Clinton voters going to pass because of her assured landslide?
Edit to add: There are also the Trump voters who will stay home because it's "totally rigged anyway."

It's OK... Open Carry TrumpenTroopers will goose step through the polling places, especially in urban areas, to ensure that the vote is 'not rigged'. Expect firefights to break out between New Black Panthers and David Duke supporters. At the same time, Charles Manson will be released on parole, ringing in the era of Helter Skelter....

FiveThirtyEight has the current estimate at 362, which is 41 above my prediction.
Barring a devastating October Surprise, Drumpf will only win if unenthusiastic Clinton voters stay home.

The math will change once she is indicted for lying to Congress. Although the Repugs in the House are running out of time to make this happen. But I suppose that is what they will claim, that there just isn't enough time; as well as the Comey/Obama cabal blocked their every attempt at seeking truth, justice and the American way.

What with the polls and the Trump campaign staff changes, I'd say the RNC will soon make the decision to saw this leg off to try to keep the gangrene from killing them.

Is it about smart? Or is it about donors saying "No more money if it is going to help Trump destroy the party and possibly make us lose the majority in Congress?"
