I was very excited that at last the medley from Abby Road would play like it is supposed to. Well, it doesn't. The next song begins before the previous song is quite finished. That's not how it works. Believe me, I lived slept and ate Beatles at the time that album came out.

The very end of Her Majesty was just cut off by the first tune of Beatles for Sale! This bites!

I also cannot seem to find the controls as shown in the Help section. The example they show says Porcelain on the window, and shows a series of options that I can't find although I feel like I've looked everywhere.

Do you have crossfading disabled?

FWIW, you can always re-rip the discs with proper gaps -- i.e., none. I've gone back to a few classic albums (like side one of "Dark Side of the Moon") and ripped certain segments as "track-at-once", which yields a single track of whatever songs you join. I guess to some that has it's downside, but everything's a yin/yang proposition anyhow.

And what M A V I C said; crossfade is great but not all the time.

Okay, I found crossfade and disabled it. The Help was very confusing to me. In addition to showing a window that I cannot find, it made it sound like Crossfade would PREVENT this overlapping. Bad, bad Help writers!

I've joined several songs together so they will play like the do on the album. I had to do that on almost all of the songs on This Is The Moody Blues.

i don't understand the popularity of the crossfade either.

Maybe crossfade is for the Trance crowd.

I hated it when Top 40 radio used to do that. Never like it. I'm glad it's optional.

So when you disabled crossfade, did the gapless stuff work like it was supposed to?

Sorry. Yes, getting rid of Crossfade has made the Abbey Road medley play correctly at least.

But having one album immediately follow another album, with no breather in between, does not suit my taste. I'm old enough to think of each album as an entity of its own.
