Hello everybody,
First and foremost, happy new year. I have not been posting form a while, yet lurking like the creepiest mf...

Ah... good times...
So I grabbed one of those minis, and today is the day that I first turned it on.
It comes with The mavs, and MS Office 2011 for mac because, of course, Best Buy's system administrator did not wipe clean the machine.
I'm already downloading Sierra, and eagerly looking forward using a modern OS.
My trusty Santa Rosa MBP will stay at 10.6.8 for the time being. This mini will get upgraded and tested until reliable... then it may become my main machine.
I may be blasting you people with questions later on, but the first two are already here:
1) I have available two Crucial SSDs, a BX100 and a BX200. I seem to remember that the 100 was better suited for system drive in real-world tests than the 200, but the specs show otherwise... I will appreciate any input on this.
2) I will be installing Sierra in the chosen drive through an external enclosure, then it will be installed internally. Does the machine have 4 GB? If so, I would upgrade to at least 8 GB.

I already have two 8gb ready... that will be upgrade number one, as soon as sierra is downloaded
I thought a lot about it and decided I wanted to turn on the machine before anything else, to rule out any shenanigans.

I see, and agree. Life's too short. Yet, Sierra's still not done, so I'd still appreciate any opinions.
I'm leaning towards the 100, since it's 250 vs 240 on the 200.

So much as avoid?? Wow... I was not aware.
At any rate, those were nice deals at the time, around 60... I will keep an eye on deals for mx drives.
And bigger, platter drives for back up.

The BX is budget line, I am not sure what MX stands for but it is supposed to be better than BX.

If 10 GB is really a big thing then you should skip straight to a 500 GB SSD .

Sierra's running now, great OS so far. I am super excited to be up to date.
