Great way to watch a movie - wurm - 01-02-2017

I had a fun New Year's Eve day with my wife and adult daughter yesterday, the highlight of which was a matinee performance of Back To The Future with the score performed live by the Boston Symphony Orchestra. If you ever have an opportunity to do something similar, I highly recommend it. After the screening/concert, we had a nice lunch in the city, then stuck around for the 7pm fireworks and we were back safe at home by 9pm. Smile

Would love to do that sometime!

Note, it's the Pops that do these shows (and many like them), not the Boston Symphony orchestra. But, yes, I would definitely like to get tickets one day to see this performed live.

Ahh....you're right. I automatically associated Symphony Hall with the BSO, but of course it was the Pops. Great nonetheless.

My daughter now tells me she and her hubby only go to movie theaters with lazy-boy-recliner-type seating. I thought that's where you might have been going with the topic title. Sounds like you had more fun.

As a matter of fact, the seats in Symphony Hall are the opposite of that! Makes the intermission very necessary unless you want to lose feeling in your lower half

First time I went to Symphony Hall (many years ago) we sat up in the balcony off to the side and I don't even remember what the seats were like. Yesterday, the seats my wife bought were on the floor. There were little tables set up with chairs, and a waitress came around if we wanted to order drinks or snacks. The chairs weren't cushy recliners, but I had plenty of legroom which was all I cared about.

There are orchestra and pops seating
pops has the chairs with the little almost round shared table
I thought they only did those in the Summer and only for Pops.
Guess not.

It's true they only do those seats for the Pops, inc the Pops Christmas concert and the Nutcracker
