Dell XPS 27 - Bernie - 01-05-2017

Dell puts 10 speakers inside new XPS 27 all-in-one PC

Could we hack this one to run Snow Leopard?

Re: Dell XPS 27 - Lew Zealand - 01-05-2017

There is a good chance that the connectivity (WiFi, Enet, BT) and sound I/O ports will not work because they use different chipsets than Apple uses in Macs but maybe you'll get lucky and they do use the same chipset on one or 2. Touchscreen is obviously not supported in macOS.

Otherwise it should be Hackintoshable but frankly, I'd just use Win 10 on it. It's the first OS from MS which I've found reasonable to use day-to-day, though I still much prefer the Mac OS. And even macOS.

Oh, Snow Leopard. No.

Look to the future, my son. Cast your gaze not back but always forward.

Sorry about the picture size. It was the first one that I could get to work.
Speaking of work, my employer still on WinDoze 7.

Getting sound to work in a Hackintosh is as easy as a USB sound adapter. Sabrent adapters work great. I fought getting sound to work in Hacks but the USB solution is a snap.

Give it a few months after the Dell is on sale...someone will Hack it.

Gotta give up 10.6 - it's over and done. My favorite of them all, but it isn't being updated - gotta move on.

Yup, USB is dead easy if you don't mind spending the port. I used a cheap USB wireless-N adapter on one of my Nucintoshes as wireless was the only major integrated feature not supported by Mac OS.

It looks like an UltraSharp with a sound bar. Not great looking but not the ugliest thing you could sit in front of.

Im staring at a 2715 right now, the thin bezel is sweet.

But those 6 fugly speaker grills on the expanse of black are too much for me. and the sound. pointed right in your face?

Reminds me of this:
