Congratulations, you now have the worst of weather extremes; insufferably hot in Summer, chillingly cold in Winter and a basketball team that might win someday if they transfer the franchise to the NBA 'D' League.

But its a dry heat. =)~
We get a few days where in the dead of night it gets below freezing -- but most of the winter it never comes close.
The next 10 days has daytime highs in the mid 50s (really shorts weather) and night time lows in the mid 40s -- hardly cold -- typical days have about a 10º gap.
Tuesday the predicted high is 52 with a low of 49. meh.

The 4" - 6" of rain that is going to start around midnight will melt that ice.
I used to get a good layer of frost on my car about half the days in Jan. and Feb. It also can get inverted fog that doesn't burn off for several days straight, laced with unhealthy levels of wood fire particulates, with temps never getting above 40 F.

I think it was in the mid 80s that there was a real cold spell in Sacramento. A cold and foggy week and then one day the fog was so think you could hardly tell it was daytime and the day's high was around 33º, low about 20º. All hell broke loose - broken water pipes EVERYWHERE.

I actually do know what real cold is.
I've been to Clear A.F.S. in central Alaska in the winter.
50 below...now THAT'S cold...

I'm in Sacramento right now. Compared to Palm Springs.... It's cold for me and the wife.
