I can't remember thinking "WTF?" so many times during an interview as I did this morning listening to the John Kelly interview on NPR.
Already falling on his sword, taking the blame for the incompetent travel ban EO rollout.
When asked about the letter addressed to him from over 100 people saying that the travel ban was a bad idea, his response was, "I haven't seen that. What's in it?"
His reply when told that the letter said that the travel ban will help ISIS recruit more followers: "If that's true, then how did 9-11 happen?" and basically said that they hate us because of our freedoms.
His statement that we should all be Irish on St. Patrick's day, Jewish on Chanukah, Muslim on Eid, but "American the other 364 days a year."
I had to turn off the radio.

I happened to catch the same part of that interview. He played the "There are always people trying to kill us" card, too. You know where that leads.

I've been looking for some overseas airline tickets, it's amazing how much faster the outbound flights are filling this year compared to past (but plenty of seats coming back)

He's got to cover for his boss. Truthfully no one should want the president to look bad. It's a bad reflection on the rest of us. But, he's not fooling anyone. Just fodder for Trump's base and those who do not want to admit they've been hoodwinked.

Well, he did manage to half-admit that the immigration roll-out could have been smoother, had it not been already well under way before he could do anything about it. "Give me the order, then get out of the way" is how he operates, he said (paraphrasing). (So far, though, that is not how Trump rolls.)
