I remember watching a wee bit of the World Series years ago between the Mets and the Red Sox (I think: the one with the famous error on a ground ball), when the camera did a nice tight closeup of the batter's face. I was thinking (grudgingly, because I hate baseball), "Well, he's actually sort of a nice-looking young guy" when a blob of brown sludge oozed out of his mouth.
I asssume it was tobacco. That closeup became a far-away pretty darn quick.

You are simply unaware of what's great about baseball. You could learn to understand and enjoy it because it is truly an enjoyable sport. You can ignore the parts that annoy you. I do.

I never enjoyed watching baseball on TV, you dont get a feel for the game.
Live baseball is more tolerable.
Basketball and Football are the only sports I actually watch.

My second year of college, I started to go a bit overboard following sports. I realized I was devoting fifteen, twenty hours a week to it, and not getting anything in return. I gave it up.
I got more sex, better grades, lost ten pounds, and saved money. I guess the only downside is, if I have to make chitchat with 'mint, we'll have to discuss the weather, I guess.
