Anyone using High Sierra with Adobe CS 5.5 - spacescape - 10-05-2017
Ok... Reloaded my mid 2011 27" iMac with High Sierra and just migrated over the user data to see if it would fix my sluggish boot problems. Well, it did (However, recovering / migrating 500 GB of Data from an external Seagate USB was pretty horrific and took hours...)... I loaded my Propellerheads Reason software which appears to be working (a couple of services will not start due to Filevault I believe). I was having trouble locating my Adobe CS5.5 Standard Edition installation disc (but had my serial number) so I downloaded it from Adobe... Unfortunately, I keep getting a "Install cannot be opened. You should eject disk image." Error... Which is common from what I'm reading and it also has something to do with Filevault and there is a way around it. But, I did locate it this morning and will try to install from the "original" disk. From what I understand this should solve this installation problem (which is because it's downloaded)
That being said, anyone running CS 5.5 with High Siera ? This is my second computer (I use a 13.3" MBP running Siera) and I'm really doing very little Indesign, Illustrator or Photoshop work right now to justify $19.99 / month (Using a student discount)... Just wondering what my options are... ha ha... I'm about ready to just nuke and reload Siera on this machine for now...

Adobe does not recommend upgrading to HS.

Because heaven forbid Adobe should start looking at their software with the beta releases like every "small time" software company or shareware author.

I know I'm not doing design work at this time but very bummed that I can't spend $200 to upgrade to a physical copy.

Wacom tablets and Office 2011 hare having issues too -- although I havent done any deep research.
Seems APFS is part of the issue

Do not go farther than 10.12.1 if you want to continue using PS5.5! I tried it a couple of months ago and it took me a week to get go back. During that week I was not able to use my PS - at all. It was by luck & chance that I was able to redo 10.12.1. As I have two hard drives on this machine, I did install High Sierra on the other drive, but mainly to see what it does. Otherwise I stay on the early Sierra drive.

I was able to install 5.5 last night but good god... I felt like I was running dos... Jumping through so many hoops to actually get it to install... I'm actually thinking Windows 10 is far superior to High Sierra right now... Go figure...
Michael, PS 5.5 doesn't work at all? Because Indesign and Illustrator opened up just fine but didn't actually use it yet.
But, I'm thinking of booting up from my backup and reloading Sierra... However, I noticed it wasn't there to "re-download"... YIKES... Where do I download this?

I am still at 10.10.5, solid as a rock, running Adobe CC, CS 6, CS 5.5, Quark 2015, Luminar, On1 Photo RAW, Affinity Photo, Aurora HDR,Windows 10 in VirtualBox and a bunch of other apps on a 2009 4,1 Mac Pro. I can only go to El Cap on this MP but considering all the issues a number of people have had with Adobe and updating their OS, I'm staying put and getting my work done.
