Ecobee 4 is out, besides Alexa, I can't really tell what is changed. In fact I probably don't want Alexa spying on me.

I've had my Ecobee, bit over one year old now. My power company offers deals often, got it for $149. Definitely paid for itself. Check with your power company to see if they off these deals. I also just got a Nest for other house through power company design, $149.
