I strop my Gillette fusion blade on my forearm. In the shower. Then shave under the shower. My blades last well over 6 months. Yes, the stupid little teflon strip wears off, but since I shave underwater, my skin is nicely hydrated.
I use a waterpik every week or so. It works nicely... I've used them since I was a kid. My wife uses it too. It's also useful for forcibly cleaning out fountain pen nibs, or getting in spray fights with my wife. Who wins by throwing cupfuls of cold water at me, and then there is a lot of laughing and snuggling. Then we clean up.

I use a waterpik to clean my razors and then dry thoroughly.

TLB... I'm not drying mine, because it lives in the shower.
I shave in the shower so the beard hairs are nice and damp and softened. It's not for everybody... I can shave without seeing myself in the mirror, but I admittedly often miss a little patch under my chin, so I use my fingerips to feel for stubble. I haven't bought shaving cream for 10 years.. I just apply body wash to the face, then wash the rest of my pudgy body, and then shave.
I do rinse the blades off after use. Stropping them removes oxidation.

Hi everyone,
I can get weeks and weeks and weeks out of a single DE blade. Two-pass shave (flip razor for second pass), rinse off blade, blot dry, place razor on stand. And, the blades are _incredibly_ cheap. Pennies when bought in bulk. $10 or so bucks of blades can last years.
Truth to say... The blades are so cheap that I wouldn't go any further with trying to extend their life. Not cost effective. Maybe if the blades were a buck or more each. For what I pay? Heck no!
I spend more $$$ on supplies for sinus rinsing than I do on shaving. So for me, the question is do I stick with the Nellimed squeeze bottle or purchase a powered sinus rinsing device. There are a bunch of options out there, just not sure which powered system, if any, is worth the $$$.

Me too, except I use cheap conditioner in place of shaving cream (I just bought a bottle of suave for $2, it will last about 6 months). If I try to shave in a mirror, I'll cut myself every single time.

My dental hygienist did NOT like the WaterPik. She said it was too easy to damage the gums. She DID like the Braun Oral-B irrigator; its' stream is gentler (but still effective).
