Saw Thor Ragnarok - Grumpyguy - 11-03-2017 I enjoyed the first two Thors, but this one was all action and FX and no plot. Really disappointed. Maybe if Hollywood was playing less grabass and had normal Americans read their scripts and make sure it had something called a plot, movie revenues wouldn't be plummeting. Honestly, before spending a hundred million or more on a movie, you'd think a studio would require a coherent and moving story line. Obviously, few in Hollywood know what this is anymore. I enjoyed Atomic Blonde and Wonder Woman, but Ragnarok falls into the ranks of Batman V Superman, Iron Man 3 and Captain America: Civil War. Then I went out to dinner and was treated to a tough ribeye, cold mashed potatoes, and frozen baklava. Does anyone know how to cook anymore:oldfogey: P.S. :dunno:Just read Ragnarok is expected to open to a $115 million dollar weekend. So, what do I know Re: Saw Thor Ragnarok - SteveG - 11-04-2017 Ragnarok's been getting reviews praising it for lots of humor and being a change from the rest of the Marvel smashers. Most reviews do note that near the end it devolves into the usual grunt and rip. Thanks for your review. Good to hear another opinion. Re: Saw Thor Ragnarok - NewtonMP2100 - 11-04-2017 .....you can see from trailer, it has a lot of 'humor' or tries for a more humorous tone...... Re: Saw Thor Ragnarok - Grumpyguy - 11-04-2017 The humor seemed out of place to me. Re: Saw Thor Ragnarok - digby - 11-04-2017 Grumpyguy wrote:Note to self: Don't go to movies when grumpy. Re: Saw Thor Ragnarok - DP - 11-04-2017 Then I went out to dinner and was treated to a tough ribeye, cold mashed potatoes, and frozen baklava. I'd be grumpy too! Re: Saw Thor Ragnarok - Onamuji - 11-04-2017 I've had a tough few months. Looking forward to a couple of hours of mindless technicolor fun. Re: Saw Thor Ragnarok - Billybob - 11-04-2017 I'm with Grumpy on this. So many of the Superhero flix--especially when they include multiple heros--devolve into CGI excess, which is BORING! I guess I should lower my standards and try to enjoy the first 2/3 of these movies before they start catering to the pyrotechnic addicts. Re: Saw Thor Ragnarok - deckeda - 11-04-2017 I saw Thor: Haircut Edition last night. It had funny scenes that were almost too numerous to be funny. The jokes tended to happen incongruously, like the timing against the action didn't mesh. If this had been the first, I might not have made it to see the others. I have a 15 and an 11 yr old, so I'll be seeing pretty much every Marvell and DC until I die, regardless. |
