Movie review: Loving Vincent - Lizabeth - 11-05-2017

Interesting animation and story line. Not what I was expecting.

Would definitely look good on a 4K TV when the DVD comes out.

I thought it was absolutely beautiful. The storyline was interesting though not compelling. The artistry and imagery was visually stunning...a feast for the eyes. For those of you not in the know, this was a story about the death of Vincent Van Gogh, and the entire movie (i.e. every frame) was hand painted in the expressionistic style of Van Gogh.

I had the opposite reaction. I found the plot interesting, but the visuals let me down on the times when I could too clearly see the film underneath the painting. This especially happened on the black and white sequences. And sometimes a person's face would move around so much I found it too distracting. But don't get me wrong. Overall I found the visuals quite lovely, just not as well done as I had imagined they would be.
