Can a HD with SMART test fails be fixed? - Microman - 11-22-2017

I have a tivo drive that gves a Fail 7 on short test, and a NO Run on Conveyance test, when running the S.M.A.R.T. when its mounted in the Tivo.

Should I just replace this 1 TB drive for another, and is it a waste of time to try and use tools to redo the drive for TIVO.

Once it fails SMART it is done. No going back the failure is hard coded in the drive firmware permanently.
