Trump's ex-aide Bannon strikes deal to avoid grand jury testimony: CNN - SteveG - 01-17-2018 Not sure what this means exactly in the long haul, but I'll bet there's the sounds of Big Macs splattering on TV screens at the White House. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trump-russia/trumps-ex-aide-bannon-strikes-deal-to-avoid-grand-jury-testimony-cnn-idUSKBN1F61Y7 ![]() One shirt? A spokesman for Mueller declined to comment on the CNN report. - An interview with prosecutors would allow Bannon to have an attorney present during his appearance, as lawyers are not permitted in grand jury rooms. - According to a person familiar with the arrangement, the attorney who represented Bannon for Tuesday’s House appearance, William Burck, is not representing him in connection with Mueller’s investigation. The person did not believe Bannon had hired a counsel for that yet. Re: Trump's ex-aide Bannon strikes deal to avoid grand jury testimony: CNN - sekker - 01-17-2018 Mueller is smart. If he learns about NEW stuff, he can always play the Grand Jury card. Re: Trump's ex-aide Bannon strikes deal to avoid grand jury testimony: CNN - pdq - 01-17-2018 He testified before the House committee yesterday. Well, he kinda did: Tensions flared early in the proceedings after Bannon informed the committee that he was refusing to answer any questions about his time in the White House or on the post-election transition, infuriating Democrats and Republicans on the panel, who subpoenaed him on the spot, according to a source familiar with the interview. Even under subpoena, he refused...and his lawyer was on the phone with the White House during the questioning, asking them what questions he should answer.(!) So, this guy is effectively asserting (selectively) executive privilege not for himself, but his former boss (who has not asserted executive privilege), during a time which includes before when Trump was president. It was enough to even piss off Trey Gowdy. One wonders how Steve will look in stripes. Maybe he can get horizontal stripes for one suit and vertical for the other. Because he'll be wearing both at the same time, it could look pretty wild.
