How to get around Amazon Prime’s new $119 fee - space-time - 04-28-2018
Nothing surprising though... basically share with some friends/relatives, pay by the month (even worse IMHO unless you only need it a few months a year), or go back to school. Maybe those with colleage aged kids can take advantage.

$119 is a bit rich for my blood. I use Prime mostly for the free 2 day shipping. I don't use the photo or book benefits, and won't pay extra for their availability.

....for most Amazon Prime is a 'luxury'....not necessity.......at some point the price is no longer worth it......if I had it, I would do without......
......you can get cheaper items with relatively fast shipping with......Walmart, Target, Costco, Sam's Club, etc......
....and most of the time do you really need something 'right away'.......???

You can buy one less coffee per month from a barista, and that will cover the $1.67 cents per month that this is costing you. Or buy one six pack of Rolling Rock per month instead of Beck's. Jeebus.

AMZ has an "edu" discount why don't they offer a similar discount to "seniors"??

For me, it's not the monthly increase that matters, it's the 20% jump.
By my math, $119 per year works out to $9.92 a month; not worth it for me.
