Don Blankenship makes a compelling argument - pdq - 05-04-2018 ...that is, if you're a hick back-country racist: Ex-con coal baron Don Blankenship has arguably hit a new low in his bid to face Sen. Joe Manchin (R-WV), going after Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s (R-KY) “China family” in a new ad with just days to go until the GOP primary. Understand, Blankenship is not even running against McConnell, or McConnell's wife, Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao (arguably the most competent and experienced member of the Trump cabinet.) Chao appears to only serve as a most tenuous link to exploit the racism of Blankenship's base in this ad. Blankenship, if anyone has forgotten, is a multimillionaire coal mine owner who is still on parole for his role in failing to prevent a 2010 mine disaster that killed 29 of his workers. But at least he aint no chink, ya know? (...and they think this guy may actually have a chance of winning the GOP nom. (shiver)) Re: Don Blankenship makes a compelling argument - cbelt3 - 05-04-2018 please please please let him violate campaign finance laws, which will result in a parole violation, which will result him going to jail. AFTER winning the nomination. Really it's almost guaranteed. These guys just can't help themselves. They see a law, or a woman, and can't help but violate it / them. Re: Don Blankenship makes a compelling argument - rjmacs - 05-04-2018 Does TPM seriously refer to the incumbent senator as "Sen. Joe Manchin (R-WV)"? No payoff involved there! What a load of garbage. Re: Don Blankenship makes a compelling argument - pdq - 05-04-2018 Steve G. wrote: Yeah, sure. Of the Trump cabinet, she is perhaps the most competent (or at least the most experienced). That first clause sets a low bar indeed. Hitting the bottom of the barrel for troll material? Re: Don Blankenship makes a compelling argument - bfd - 05-06-2018 Empty barrel - has been for a long time. Shooting nothing but blanks nowadays. Re: Don Blankenship makes a compelling argument - GGD - 05-07-2018 45 just came out against him, saying remember Alabama. I wonder if 45 will be all for him once he wins the primary, just like we remember in Alabama. https://www.politico.com/story/2018/05/07/trump-don-blankenship-571564 President Donald Trump warned West Virginia voters to “remember Alabama” on Tuesday when they cast ballots in the state’s Republican primary, cautioning them against supporting coal baron Don Blankenship’s bid to win a GOP Senate nomination. |
