Old iPad to mom question - rgG - 06-28-2018

I am giving my old iPad to my mom.
She only needs it to play some card games.
I have all the games loaded onto the pad.
She has no internet service, so I have turned off the WiFi.
She might use the camera to take a few pics, if my daughter can teach her how, but they would just be for later viewing on that iPad only.

My question is, can I now sign out of my iTunes account on that iPad and everything will just stay as it is? I am assuming it would, as I can’t see how anything would get deleted.

Would anything ever cause her to lose the games I have on it now?

Once you sign out of your AppleID, she will not be able to update those apps, but they shouldn't self delete.

If it was me, I'd set up a gmail address for her, a new AppleID for her (you keep all the creds, etc), and just sign it in to that, and leave WiFi on for the odd run to a cafe with open WiFi.

It's a pain in the rear giving someone an iPad tied to an AppleID that's yours.

All she has to do is hold her finger on an app’s icon until it starts wiggling and then hit the x on the app and it’s gone.

Yes, but assuming she doesn’t do that, all should be good, yes?

She will not need to or be able to update the apps, lol.
Since some of the games were paid apps, if I made an account for her, I would need to buy them again.
I just want to sign out of my account in case someone else got the iPad for some reason.

I think in newer iOS versions, there is a way to enable restrictions, so you need a passcode to delete Apps. See if that option exists on the iPad. That will prevent accidental delete of her apps.

Agree with the others... set her up an apple ID, famlly share with yourself, set parental controls. It should be good to go. Keep in mind that she will encounter other Moms with iPads and will get lots of tech support. So it WILL go on the internet. Never assume it won't. The iPad has replaced grandma's brag book of photos in the nursing homes and assisted living homes of America. They all have wifi now.

But, I have turned WiFi off. I may even put it in airplane mode. I am 99.9% sure she will not mess with any of the settings.
I could do the family share thing though, if the iOS on that pad will support it.

It will pester her incessantly to connect to the internet, to sign in to the AppleID... etc.
