AT&T Fiber - Rolando - 06-30-2018 Last week got an email that AT&T Fiber is available in my Area. A Week later, I'm switching from 25/5 Copper + DirecTV to 300/300 + uVerseTV, saving about $40 a month! ![]() ![]() Re: AT&T Fiber - NewtonMP2100 - 06-30-2018 ....why not just use Metamucil [ fiber ]......??? Re: AT&T Fiber - sekker - 06-30-2018 Just demonstrates how good fiber is for you! Re: AT&T Fiber - Don C - 06-30-2018 Boy would I love to have those upload speeds. Backing up to my new offsite service is taking literally months now (admittedly, I have way too many duplicate files) Did you purchase an optical modem or was that provided? Also, who runs the new optical cable inside of the house? ATT as part of the installation? Or do you or the contractor of choice run the inside cable? Re: AT&T Fiber - Rolando - 06-30-2018 The Modem is part of the service (rental is built in to the price). The Installer (wearing and ATT Shirt, driving an ATT Truck) ran fiber form the lines to a box on my house, then into my house from the box. Here's a bonus. I called DirecTV to cancel that service. The rep advised me to just take all the boxes to my local UPS store, tell them it was going back to DirecTV. They will print a label with my account number and pack it all up! I really got to say I'm pretty happy with ATT/DirecTV customer service. In more than two years of service, I've had two outages, one of which required a service call, on New Years Day. I really can't complain. Re: AT&T Fiber - Filliam H. Muffman - 06-30-2018 I am another one that would love to switch, but AT&T's map to confirm coverage of U-verse TV is useless to find coverage. It only seems to give a positive result if you already know there is service to an address. Re: AT&T Fiber - fmgtech - 06-30-2018 Doesn't AT&T own DirecTV now. Do they still offer uVerse. What is the difference. Re: AT&T Fiber - Will Collier - 06-30-2018 I'm happy with it. Price is reasonable, and it's much, much more reliable than Crapcast. I think we've had two outages in two years. Comcast dropped out at lest once a month. Re: AT&T Fiber - pdq - 06-30-2018 Can you give us some idea of the monthly price (including taxes/fees/etc)? I rarely had weather related issues. uVerse has a different channel lineup, but roughly comparable to local Cable. I do wish Apple would just buy DirecTV for the Programming (especially the NFL Ticket), then spin off (get it ![]() ![]() |
