LG V20 or V30 - anyone own one? - mrbigstuff - 02-27-2019 Looking at this older model phone ( I always buy the previous generation or two before to save $) what do you think about the phone, and on the V20, have you replaced the battery?) Re: LG V20 or V30 - anyone own one? - dk62 - 02-27-2019 I liked the V20, still have it but do not use it except sometimes as universal remote (last LG model with IR, I think). The battery is not lasting long any more, about 12 hours only, even after battery replacement. On G7 ThinQ now. Re: LG V20 or V30 - anyone own one? - Fritz - 02-27-2019 The days of flip phones I only bought LG's and they were very reliable. With smatphis, after a couple gens of HTCs, my spouse and I both had G4s. She still has hers though it has issues. Mine went back to LG 3 times before they fixed it. At XDA and elsewhere, LG still exhibited instabilities thru the V 20 and G5. If you're gonna chance LG I'd say go V30 or G6 or later. As usual OMMD. Even though HTC appears to be teetering as a phone company, I bought and am very happy with a 2nd hand U11. Re: LG V20 or V30 - anyone own one? - Filliam H. Muffman - 02-27-2019 I have the V20 64 GB on Verizon. I would guess the battery has lost about 30-40% it's capacity. The battery has not been replaced it yet since I am usually near a power source. I am considering a new phone since the two years is up in May. It has USB-C, so it charges in less than 90 minutes if you have a high power source. The camera is fine, but not quite as good as my previous HTC M8. I don't like the current home screen. Verizon/Google hacked out my favorite feature of having it blank except for weather. It will take just about any capacity microSD card (supposedly 1 TB). Re: LG V20 or V30 - anyone own one? - timg - 02-27-2019 I just replaced a V20 that I had used for 2.5 years with a Google Pixel 3 XL. I did replace the battery after about a year and a half, but the battery life never recovered to original even with the new battery. After update to Android 8, things started going bad. I don't think they did a very good job QAing the software update. And the battery life took another hit. I would have to charge it 2 or 3 times a day. It got to the point that when I got to work I just plugged it in. I really liked the phone, but I think the newer software updates kind of ruined the experience for me. By the way, the Pixel 3 XL is very nice and I don't have to charge it during the day. |
