We have named him Lord Waffles, Duke of Waffington, First of his Name, Purrtector of the Realm. Re: Archie Harrison - Lemon Drop - 05-09-2019 That's a pretty cute name. Very unexpected, but cute. That photo of the Queen greeting the baby with Meghan's Mom there is really something; a descendant of American slaves now the wife of the Queen's grandson and mother of the 7th in line to the British throne. And an accomplished humanitarian and career woman in her own right, to boot. Re: Archie Harrison - samintx - 05-09-2019 I think his name is terrible! Sorry, it sounds like a joke. I'm not sure that celebrating the tacit acceptance of a Black woman into one of the most historically white supremacist (and largely unreconstructed) institutions in the world is a good thing. I think that Meghan should have a happy life with her husband and child, and I'm pleased that she seems to be a successful fit with her in-laws. I wish her all the best, and my mixed feelings involve no judgment of the Duchess as an individual. That being said, is this something worthy of public acclaim? Would be similarly delight if a woman were somehow magically appointed to lead the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith? I think different people can legitimately have different takes on this, depending on where they sit politically and culturally. For me, I'm not sure this is a huge win. I think it's wonderful. Re: Archie Harrison - Filliam H. Muffman - 05-09-2019 Revolutionary War Phase 2 has been initiated! |
