Watched 'Searching' last night, and was impressed. Figured that it would appeal to a forum of computer fans and techies (I won't say 'nerds'). Better yet, it's a well-plotted/directed/acted film. It relies almost entirely on computer screens, webcams, and iPhone cameras, and you have to read quick-moving text as much as listen, but it's quite a cliff-hanger and will keep your attention to the surprising ending.

I did wonder how some older people who are not computer/smart-phone savvy could make any sense out of this film. But my wife (who's no expert) and I (not either, despite using Macs since 1988 and managing an office full of PCs for a decade) had no trouble. The plot, which begins slowly and then accelerates with many twists, could have been made with standard technique, but the really clever use of the Internet takes it to a new, almost scary, level. I recommend it.

John Cho. Very good stuff. I’ll second everything you had to say, including that it can easily be enjoyed by the non-savvy. Sister enjoyed it tremendously, and that description is perfect for her.
