18th transgender murder victim found in Florida - $tevie - 09-17-2019
The body of a black transgender woman, said by the authorities to have been burned beyond recognition, was found inside an abandoned car in Florida.
The victim, Bee Love Slater, 23, was the 18th transgender person known to have been killed in the United States this year, according to Human Rights Campaign, a civil rights organization that tracks anti-transgender violence.

That's horrible. A few months ago I read a news item about dozens of gay and trans murders. It was posited that some kind of online group was doing the killing b/c there is often apparently a tell-tale marking found nearby, some kind of symbol painted on bridge abutments, etc; I want to say the murders were pretty spread out around the nation. It seemed that the authorities were not that cooperative in connecting the killings IIRC.
