measure this MBP - Fritz - 10-10-2019 would one of you with a MBP 15" of recent vintage, please measure the height of the top of the shell when fully open and the back is elevated 3". Doing some planning for a desk unit. I estimate < or = 12.5". Re: measure this MBP - rjmacs - 10-10-2019 How recent? My Early-2013 15" MBP Retina stands almost exactly 10" tall when open at 90ยบ on my desk. Add 3" to that, I guess? Re: measure this MBP - GGD - 10-10-2019 Here are the Apple specs for the most recent 15" MBP. https://support.apple.com/kb/SP794?locale=en_US Size and Weight So, that 9.48" + 3" is just about 12.5" I'm assuming that the way the hinge works, the edge of the top cover will swing to where it's just about flush with the bottom of the bottom case, so no additional height is incurred from that 0.61" height of the closed MBP. Re: measure this MBP - Fritz - 10-10-2019 sounds about right. thanks. Re: measure this MBP - rjmacs - 10-11-2019 GGD wrote: This assumption is not true with my machine. I don't actually have this model, I'm just going on how they've done the screen hinge in the past and pictures of more recent models. ![]() Re: measure this MBP - rjmacs - 10-11-2019 It's close, but no cigar. Then, it's a 2013, so perhaps they were less compact? |
